Founded in 2018 and based in Tokyo, Japan, TechMagic Inc. , a robotics company that serves the food service industry with cooking robots and process automation robots. In March 2024, TechMagic Inc. raised an undisclosed amount in series C funding from new investors Wing Capital Partners, Hachijuni Investment, Resona Capital, Seibu Shinkin Capital and Shoko Chukin Bank, with participation from returning investors Kewpie Corporation, Ajinomoto, Fujimak Corporation, and Oriental Land Innovations.
This round was part of a larger JPY 2. 54 billion equity and debt funding. TechMagic K. K.
offers the cooking robot "P-robo" which reproduces skilled cooking techniques and the "business robot" automates simple tasks such as cleaning work and serving at food factories. The robots are non-contact and therefore helpful in the time of the pandemic to avoid infection. Business robot "finibo" is a system in which two robots, a robot that picks up tableware from a conveyor belt (Picker) and a robot that stores tableware in a container (Stower), work together. "D-Robo" serves alcoholic drinks.
The company plans to use the March 2024 funding to strengthen the development of its hardware and software, create a new business, develop the system for production and maintenance for mass production, and hire more employees.
