Founded in 2012 and based in California, US, Synthego Corporation operates as a provider of genome engineering solutions that include software and synthetic RNA kits for genome editing and research. The company was founded by its CEO Paul Dabrowski, Alex Pesch, and Michael Dabrowski, In August 2020, Synthego Corporation raised USD 100 million in series D funding co-led by new investors RA Capital, Wellington Management, and existing investor 8VC. Synthego operates a CRISPR (clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats)-editing platform called Eclipse. Eclipse allows its users to perform CRISPR editing which is a type of DNA sequence found in prokaryotic organisms (Bacteria) that is used to edit genes with the ability to detect and destroy DNA from similar bacteriophages when a patient gets infections.

By using the platform, the company produces a list of engineered cells products called: Knockout iPS Cells, Knock-In iPS Cells, Immortalized Knockout Pool, and Immortalized Knockout Clone. The company also operates another platform called Halo, which provides gene-editing tools for biopharmaceuticals to use in their day-to-day research operations ranging from basic research to drug discovery.
