, collectively doing business as Sunrise, is an AI (artificial intelligence) computing chip company focusing on the R&D and commercialization of high-performance GPUs (Graphics Processing Units) and multi-modal inference chips. Sunrise's foundation was initiated by its Board Chairman, Bing Xu who was co-founder of SenseTime Group, an AI software provider listed on Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX). The company's two co-CEOs, Zhan Wang and Yong Wang, are former legal representative of Baidu Group and former senior expert in AMD and Kunlun chips, respectively. Sunrise's predecessor was Shanghai PowerTensors Intelligent Technology Co.
, Ltd. which had operated as chip division of SenseTime Group before spinning off in late 2024 to operate independently under the new entity Zhejiang Sunrise Intelligent Technology Co. , Ltd. Hangzhou Sunrise Intelligent Technology Co.
, Ltd. , established in June 2025, was a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shanghai PowerTensors Intelligent Technology Co. , Ltd. and is currently the entity to conduct main businesses under the brand "Sunrise".
In April 2026, Sunrise raised over CNY 1 billion in strategic investment from HangZhou Capital, Puhua Capital, and other investors. Sunrise primarily engages in AI chip design focusing on their next-generation AI model inference chip. The company has launched Sunrise S1, a chip for cloud-edge visual inference, designed specifically for video analysis model inference and Sunrise S2, a large-model inference GPGPU (General-Purpose Computing on Graphics Processing Unit), fully compatible with the CUDA ecosystem. The two products achieved mass production in 2020 and 2024 respectively.
Sunrise generates revenue from developing and designing AI computing chips. The company will use the strategic funding in April 2026 for the mass production and delivery of the next-generation Qiwang S3 inference GPU, the construction of a full-stack software ecosystem, and the research and development iteration of subsequent S4/S5 chips.
