In May 2025, Sublime Systems, Inc. raised USD 3 million in venture funding from new investor Suffolk Equity Partners. The company was a spin-out of MIT. The firm offers sustainable cement which is made by a breakthrough process that makes low-carbon cement perform like normal.

It uses an electrifying cement production process that forgoes the kiln entirely. The cement will be available in metric tonnes in 2023. The company plans to complete construction of its first commercial factory in Holyoke, Massachusetts, and accelerate development of its full-scale cement production facility.
