L. is a fintech company that offers financing services for students through a Shared Income Agreement (ISA), allowing students to pay for the loan on a certain period and based on their income. In May 2021, the company raised USD 5.

3 million in a seed funding co-led by Armilar Venture Partners and Giant Ventures, with participation from Mustard Seed MAZE, Sabadell Venture Capital, Seedcamp and individual investors. StudentFinance provides technology infrastructure and predictive models for education providers to offer flexible payment plans in the form of ISAs and data intelligence on the employment market to predict job demand. In addition, the company has partnered with more than 30 schools, including about 120 programs in more than 10 fields. The company generates revenue by charging a fixed percentage of the student’s post-graduation income over a period of time, which is received as monthly payments.

Monthly payments are calculated by applying the income share to a student’s total monthly earned income. The company plans to use its proceeds from May 2021 funding to expand into the UK and other European markets in 5 years. In addition, the company plans to reach EUR 500 million of Income Share Agreements (ISAs) and triple the teams’ size by hiring specialists across legal, finance, HR, operations, engineering and design, data, and products.
