Based in Paranaque City, Philippines, and founded in 1980 and led by President and CEO Ankor Rai, Straive, previously known as SPi Global Holdings, provides technology-driven solutions for the extraction, enrichment, and transformation of data and content assets, as well as back-office processing solutions. In August 2017, the company was acquired by Partners Group from CVC Capital Partners, and in 2020, the firm acquired the Ed-Tech service provider, LearningMate. In April 2021, SPi Global was renamed Straive, and in August 2021, Baring Private Equity Asia EQT agreed to acquire the firm from Partners Group for approximately USD 1 billion. As of October 2021, the company operates in 19 offices across the Philippines, India, Singapore, China, Vietnam, the US, the UK, and Nicaragua.
Straive’s focus is on providing technological solutions and outsourcing services across four core verticals ed-tech, data solutions, research, and education content services. Using its in-house technological platforms and its own internal workforce the firm helps companies to better manage, retrieve and structure data. The firm also provides back-office administrative processes such as billing, copy editing, typesetting, and digitalization solutions.
