Based in Victoria, Australia, and co-founded by Byron Kennedy (CEO) and Steven Camilleri (CTO), founded in 2015, Effusiontech Pty Ltd trading under the name of SPEE3D operates as a developer and manufacturer of 3D metal printing solutions. In July 2021, SPEE3D received USD 1. 56 million of grant funding from new investors Australian Federal Government and Northern Territory Government and Public Authorities' Superannuation Scheme. The firm as of May 2023, has 4 offices in Melbourne, Victoria and Casuarina, Northern Territory, Australia, Delaware, US, and Berlin, Germany.


The company manufactures grade metal printers for 3D printing in metals, as well as offers software solutions, and metal powders. The company’s technology enables rapid metal printing at the point of need, on-site, in the field, and at sea, by harnessing the power of kinetic energy rather than relying on high-power lasers and gasses. The company’s flagship product is XSPEE3D, to print metal parts of 1000mm x 700mm as well as enhance productivity, strengthens inventory, and produces critical parts quickly for military forces for their urgent military scenarios. The other products offered by SPEE3D are ACTIVAT3D Copper, an antimicrobial copper 3D printing and metallic coating instrument, PHASER for printing copper, aluminium and aluminium bronze as well as stainless steel, titanium, high-strength aluminium and nickel-based carbides through its phaser Nozzel, LightSPEE3D, to print metal parts upto 350mm x 300mm, 4kg or 8.


8lbs and a diameter up to Ø350mm by 300mm high, and WarpSPEE3D, to print metal up to 1000mm x 700mm, 40kg or 88lbs and diameter up to 1m by 700mm high, catering to a range of industrial applications such as contract manufacturing OEM (original equipment manufacturers), parts on demand, research and defense applications.
