Based in Montreal, Canada, and founded in 1911 by Arthur Surveyer, SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. is a project management and services company that serves the oil and gas, mining and metallurgy, infrastructure, clean power, and nuclear sectors worldwide. The company is working in some 100 countries. In 1920, the company became Montreal's engineering service provider for power projects.
Over the following decades, the company that originally bore Surveyer’s name transformed into SNC as it began to expand, from oil and gas to mining and metallurgy to infrastructure. The company merged with Lavalin in 1991. In July 2020, SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. raised USD 25 million in an IPO.
The company offers services such as project and construction management, consulting, decommissioning, operations and maintenance, design and engineering, procurement, and sustaining capital, as well as intelligent networks and cybersecurity. The company's revenue is generated by designing end-to-end project solutions to providing new technologies and ways of working to cities and development markets, as well as to the energy, transportation, water, aerospace and defense, minerals, manufacturing, and geoscience industries.
