In March 2024, Triple Private Equity, along with the company’s management, acquired a majority stake in SmartCredit Limited from Marlin Equity Partners. The company's management and Marlin Equity Partners will retain minority shareholders. As of July 2024, the company is led by CEO Phil C.

  SmartCredit's core product is its comprehensive AML platform, which includes a range of services tailored to meet the needs of businesses across various sectors. The platform conducts thorough AML checks using data from sources like Dow Jones, Equifax, Experian, TransUnion, and LSEG Risk Intelligence. The solution combines AML services with facial recognition and digital fraud checks. It offers a three-step process that includes identification and verification, document capture with liveness appraisal, and digital fraud checks using data referencing and triangulation.

Additionally, the platform ensures that businesses can perform essential KYC checks, including sanctions, PEP (politically exposed persons), SIP (special interest persons), and PSC (persons with significant control) screenings. Enhanced due diligence and ongoing monitoring are also provided. SmartCredit's platform offers daily monitoring services, alerting businesses to changes in their clients' PEP or sanction status, and ensuring continuous compliance. The platform includes robust anti-fraud services that can be tailored to specific business needs, providing a comprehensive fraud prevention solution.
