Based in Texas, US, and founded in 1967, San Antonio Spurs LLC is a basketball team that was initially called the Dallas Chaparrals, playing in the American Basketball Association (ABA). It was later sold to a group of San Antonio businessmen in 1973, relocated, and was renamed the San Antonio Gunslingers. However, before they even played a game the name was changed to Spurs, and its primary colors were changed from the red, white, and blue of the Chaparrals to black, silver, and white motif. In June 2021, private equity firm Sixth Street and Michael Dell invested in San Antonio Spurs LLC, valuing the NBA franchise at USD 1.
