Based in Switzerland, and founded in 1999, Salt Mobile SA, also known as Orange Switzerland, operates as a mobile communications company in the Swiss telecommunications sector. The company was established as a Swiss subsidiary of Orange S. A. and later sold to Apax Partners in 2012.
In 2015, Apax Partners sold the company to NJJ Capital, and in the same year, the company rebranded itself as Salt Mobile SA with a different logo. As of 2022, the company is led by its CEO, Pascal Grieder. Salt Mobile SA provides telecommunication services such as mobile telephony and fiber-optic land-line services on a variety of prepaid, post-paid, and monthly subscription plans for homes, businesses, and individual mobiles. Its offerings include internet, calling, data card, tariffs, roaming, recharge, SMS, and MMS services.
Salt Mobile also sells gadgets such as the iPhone, iPad, and other mobile devices along with mobile subscription plans as a combo via its e-commerce site for customers. The company offers two mobile applications for its users: Salt. tv, which allows users to view live television channels, and salt. video, which allows users to rent, buy and stream movies and series.
As of 2022, the company sells its goods and services through its own retail stores as well as third-party partners. For the year 2018, the company generated a revenue of CHF 971 million.
