Rome Protocol

Founded in 2023 by Anil Kumar and Sattvik Kansal, and based in California, US, Rome Protocol operates as a developer of a Solana-based shared sequencer that leverages Solana directly for performance and security, as well as the possibility to unlock liquidity between Solana and Ethereum. In October 2025, Rome Protocol raised USD 9 million in seed funding co-led by returning investor Hack VC and Portal Ventures, with participated in other individual investors. Rome offers Solana as shared sequencer - Solana is used as the underlying network to power shared sequencers and data availability (DA) solutions for Ethereum L2 blockchains. Moreover, The platform enables L2s and applications to use Solana as their shared sequencer.

Then, Solana provides confirmation of transactions, high throughput, and guarantees ordering of transactions. Lastly, Rome provides Rollup as a Service that allows rollups and applications to get started. Rome aims to provide a more decentralized and efficient solution for Ethereum L2 blockchains, addressing some of the challenges they currently face. The company plans use the funding to incorporate modular services from the Solana network into the Ethereum environment.
