Established in 2007 and based in Qingdao, China, Qingdao Lufthansa Sky Chef Food Co. , Ltd. was founded as a subsidiary of International Food Services Limited and became part of the Lufthansa Group’s international airline catering system. The company built a factory in Laixi, Qingdao, with 33,333 square meters of land, 12,381 square meters of production space, eight production lines and daily capacity of 100,000 meals.

The company also expanded through a Taicang branch focused on developing retail ready-to-eat meals. In September 2024, the company suspended production due to reduced orders from international airlines and major catering customers. In September 2025, Caissa Tosun agreed to acquired the company for CNY 16 million. The company provides aviation catering, frozen and chilled food production and ready-to-eat meal development for airlines, chain restaurants and retail customers.

Its products cover Chinese cuisine, Western cuisine and Halal meals. The company generates revenue from sales of aviation catering meals, frozen and chilled food products, and retail ready-to-eat meal solutions, delivered through its large-scale factory and distribution network. Following its acquisition by Caissa Tosun in 2025, the company is expected to resume production, integrate into Caissa Tosun’s aviation catering operations and expand its presence in East China’s airlines.
