Based in São Paulo, Brazil, and founded in 2015 by Filipe Oliveira Santos and Guilherme Ebisui, Poppin operates as a developer of a mobile dating application that connects users to other users with similar social and music event interests. In December 2020, Poppin was recently acquired by Ingresse, a platform specializing in ticket sales.
Instead of showing random users, the application shows other users who will be at the same parties, ballads, festivals, shows, and cultural events. Hence, it is easier for users to set up the first date and see what places and activities they have in common with their potential partners by integrating with social media profiles and alerts. With the recent acquisition of Poppin, the company will cease to exist; half of the company's employees will start working for Ingresse.
