, a portfolio company of IGNIA Partners, SBI Holdings, Entrée Capital, Target Capital, General Catalyst Partners, Stripe, Inc. , Coatue Management, acquired PayU Global Payment Organisation (‘GPO’; not including PayU’s India, Turkey, and Southeast Asia operations) for USD 610 million from Prosus (AEX:PRX; XJSE:PRX), a global technology investor. As of 2023, Laurent le Moal is the CEO of the firm and has operations in more than 30 countries worldwide. PayU GPO primarily provides financial services to emerging markets.

The company enables cross-border payments, processing local payments in multiple markets across Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, all with a single API integration system. Moreover, it provides marketplace payment solutions to online merchants, providing them solutions to manage their cash flow, and commission rates, and create financial reports. PayU GPO also caters to the hospitality industry, offering them advanced payment solutions which provide connectivity to a suite of CRM systems. Additionally, the company also offers authentication solutions with a payment security suite and extends credit to consumers not covered by traditional banks.
