Based in Canada, and founded in 2020, Nord Quantique operates as a quantum computing technology company. The company was founded by Philippe St-Jean, Ph. D. , and Julien Camirand Lemyre, Ph.
D. as a spinoff from the Institut Quantique. In February 2022, Nord Quantique raised CAD 9. 5 million in seed funding co-led by new investors BDC Capital and Quantonation with participation from other new investor Real Ventures.
Nord Quantique develops superconducting circuits and quantum processors that use bosonic codes (a larger encoding space that prevents noisy interactions) to reduce errors on each individual qubit and paves the way for more fault-tolerant quantum computing. The company plans to use the February funds to accelerate growth, expand operations and its product development efforts.
