Nifty Island

Based in Wyoming, US, and founded in 2021 by Charles Smith and Zachary Pantely, Nifty Island LLC is an open social game hub and gallery being developed by Nyft Studios that harnesses NFTs and crypto to make the metaverse a reality. In January 2021, Nifty Island raised USD 20 million in venture funding from new investors Arrington XRP Capital, Hashed, Distributed Global Ventures, Alameda Research Ventures, and Solana Labs, Inc. As of 2021, Nifty Island is in closed alpha form and only open to a limited number of its early supporters. Nifty Island provides users with their virtual islands free of charge and access to games, NFTs, and connections to other Web3 communities.

The platform allows users to build their homes in the metaverse by creating structures, playing and/or creating games, developing their NFT collections, and connecting with other virtual gaming communities. The company will use the funding received in January 2021 to use blockchain technology to become the crossroads of the metaverse. Nifty Island will also grow its library of games for users and move towards becoming an open beta so that Nifty Island is accessible to the entire web3 community.
