Based in Zhejiang, China, and founded in 2025, Xinhangyuan (Hangzhou) Biotechnology Co. , Ltd. , trading as Next Energy, focuses on alcohol-based and power-based aviation fuel technologies. In September 2026, Next Energy raised an Angel funding led by Shanchuan hegu, with participation from Hangzhou Yibo Investment Management.

The company takes a forward-looking approach to next-generation global SAF technologies—specifically Alcohol-to-Jet (AtJ), Methanol-to-Jet (MtJ), and Power-to-Liquid (PtL)—which offer greater feedstock flexibility and significant cost-reduction potential. Its strategy involves addressing immediate industrialization needs through AtJ and MtJ in the short to medium term, while utilizing PtL to overcome future carbon resource constraints in the long term. By starting with SAF, the company aims to build a green carbon product matrix; its core competitive advantage lies in its proprietary FlexFining™ multi-carbon-source green conversion platform. The company’s revenue is generated by providing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and green carbon resource conversion platforms.

The Angel round will be primarily allocated to the following areas: on the engineering front, the company is accelerating the construction of a kiloton-scale AtJ pilot plant, with pilot validation expected to conclude in the first quarter of 2027; concurrently, it is finalizing the standardized process package for a ten-thousand-ton-scale facility, thereby establishing a comprehensive engineering validation foundation for large-scale production. On the R&D front, the company continues to develop its FlexFining™ platform and "AI for Science" R&D platform, strengthen its core talent pipeline, iterate on multiple SAF technology pathways, and solidify its long-term competitive edge. At the same time, it is continuously expanding R&D into green chemicals and new material technologies.
