Founded in 1917 and based in Sydney, Australia, Commonwealth Steel Limited, d. b. a. MolyCop is a manufacturer and supplier of grinding media, mining chemicals, and rail consumables.

In September 2025, Tega Industries Ltd. and Apollo Global Management agreed to acquire Commonwealth Steel Limited from American Industrial Partners for USD 248 million and the remaining 120 million contingent payment. The transaction is expected to close by December 31, 2025, subject to receipt of the required regulatory approvals.
As part of the deal, Tega Industries Ltd. will own a 77% majority stake and Apollo Global Management will own the remaining 23% minority in the company. The transaction will value the company at approximately USD 1. 5 billion.
As of March 2026, the CEO of the company is Jim Anderson. The company manufactures and provides steel products for industrial uses. The company's main products can be categorized into sag, grind, cast high chrome, recover (Dowfroth P-Series foaming products), and technical services for steelwork. MolyCop also engages in railway wheels & forge business which manufactures and supplies rail wheels, axles, wheel sets, and other range of products both for domestic and international customers.
