Milrem Robotics

Based in Tallinn, Estonia, and founded in 2013 by CEO Kuldar Vaarsi, Milrem AS, d. b. a. Milrem Robotics is a robotics and autonomous systems developer and systems integrator that focuses on increasing human safety and labor efficiency in various targeted industries, primarily in defense, agriculture, forestry, municipal services, rescue, and mining.

In February 2023, EDGE Group PJSC, a portfolio company of Emirates Development Bank and Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, acquired Milrem AS. In April 2025, Milrem Robotics received approximately EUR 50 million in grant funding from the European Commission. The company provides The Multiscope UGV for the commercial and government sector, including civil engineering, security, and especially fire and rescue applications; and The THeMIS UGV and Type-X RCV for defense applications. Milrem Robotics also offers a Milrem intelligent function integration kit (MIFIK) that comprises hardware and software modifications for implementing full unmanned control and safety functionality for any platform.

The firm’s client base includes NATO members: the United States, Estonia, Spain, the Netherlands, Norway, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, as well as other commercial clients. The company will use the April 2025 funding to advance its iMUGS2 project to develop next-generation Multipurpose Unmanned Ground Systems (UGS).
