Founded in 2017 and based in British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, Mangrove Water Technologies Ltd. , trading under the name Mangrove Lithium, provides a modular platform for the production of lithium hydroxide for batteries. In February 2021, the firm has raised a venture funding of USD 3 million from BDC Capital. In January 2025, Mangrove Lithium raised USD 35 million in venture funding from new investors Asahi Kasei – Corporate Venture Capital, Export Development Canada, InBC Investment, Mitsubishi Corporation, and Orion Resource Partners, with participation from returning investors BDC Capital, BMW i Ventures, and Breakthrough Energy Ventures.

Mangrove Water Technologies Ltd. helps the battery manufacturers in increasing their production while stabilizing its lithium hydroxide, as well as the lithium producers in providing a reduction in operating expense while eliminating their capital expenditures. The firm's technology platform also converts waste brines into chemicals and desalinated water. The firm plans to use its funding from BDC Capital in February 2021 to advance its technology platform and to roll out the commercial systems with upstream lithium producers and cathode and cell manufacturers.
