Based in Shenzhen, China and founded in 2022, Shenzhen Luquos Energy Technology Co. , Ltd. , trading as Luquos Energy, was founded by a research team from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and is dedicated to promoting the industrial application of sulfur-based flow battery technology. In April 2026, Luquos Energy raised nearly HKD 100 million in pre-series A funding co-led by Oriza FoFs and Xizhou International, with participation from NATIONAL INNOVATION CENTER par EXCELLENCE, Gobi Partners, Eagles Fund, Chinese University of Hong Kong Bursary and other investors.

The company provides primarily engages in the research and development of sulfur-based flow battery technology. This technology utilizes aqueous electrolytes and abundant sulfur-based active materials, possessing advantages such as intrinsic safety, non-flammability, non-explosiveness, and low resource costs, making it suitable for large-scale energy storage scenarios. The company's revenue is generated by researching and developing of sulfur-based flow battery technology. The company will use the funding for the construction of flow battery production lines, research and development of key materials and system technologies, and the implementation of global demonstration projects, thereby accelerating the company's commercialization process in the field of new long-term energy storage.
