About

Based in Japan, LiLz Inc. d. b. a liLz develops and offers services that make use of AI and IoT technologies, specifically the development of LiLz Gauge and LiLz Sound Search.

LiLz Gauge monitors analog meters continuously with the aid of low-power cameras, eliminating the need for time and labor-consuming manual inspection. LiLz Sound Search can search for specific sounds within a vast amount of recordings and can differentiate between sounds that have only slight differences, eliminating the need to actually listen to the recordings. They have received the first prize in the Kyushu-Yamaguchi Venture Awards in 2018, and the grand prix of the CEATAC AWARD 2019 for Total Solutions. It was founded in 2017 by Keigo Onishi, Makoto Otsuka, Jakub Kolodziejczyk and Taiki Nishime.

It collaborated with 12 partners which are classified into 3 broad categories: device partners, which resell Lilz IoT cameras and other hardware, cloud partners, which sells software access, for example to Lilz Gauge or Sound Search and solution partners, which work to enable Lilz products such as calibrating Lilz Gauge to a company’s proprietary gauges. In June 2026, LiLz raised an undisclosed amount in venture funding from RIX CORPORATION. LiLz Gauge is a cloud service that utilizes low power consumption IoT cameras and machine learning for visual patrol inspections of analog meters. Its customer industries are building management, power plants, chemical plants, public facilities, gas, industrial equipment, water and sewage plants and commercial facilities.

The LTE-equipped cameras shoot thrice in a day and operate for three years. Multiple instruments can be monitored at the same time from the image taken by the camera. A telephoto lens can also be attached in order to shoot the instrument from a distance. The company will use June 2026 funds to promote the global expansion of its remote inspection solutions.
