Founded in 1896 and based in Zug, Switzerland Landis + Gyr AG is a supplier of utility electricity meters, sensors, smart metering, grid analytics, and other energy management solutions. In April 2010, Landis+Gyr AG raised USD 165 million in funding from DLJ Merchant Banking Partners and Hudson Clean Energy Partners. In April 2017, CVC Capital Partners and Hitachi, Ltd bid to acquire Landis+Gyr AG from Toshiba Corporation and INCJ, Ltd for an estimated JPY 200 billion, and in May 2017, the offer was rejected. As of 2022, Werner Lieberherr is the CEO of the company.
The company offers products and solutions including electricity meters, gas meters, water meters, heating, and cooling meters, analytics, consumer engagement, distribution automation and sensors, load management, multi-commodity AMI, and flexible communications. The firm's services include cloud services, deployment, and project delivery services, managed and smart grid services, and support services. Landis+Gyr provides software such as advanced grid analytics, core MDMS, distribution automation gateway, MDUS – SAP for utility adaptor, smart data connect, and smart data for outage management. The organization also provides a multifunctional Gridstream® Connect solution that brings enhanced security to meters, energy management, and distribution automation.
