Established in 2024 and based in Tokyo, Japan, KenRi develops and provides digital solutions and secretarial services mainly for law firms. In July 2024, KenRi raised JPY 70 million in seed funding led by investors East Ventures, ON & BOARD, and Bengo4. com, Inc.   KenRi addresses the gap in the judicial system where only 20% of individuals in need can access legal representation.

The company's primary offerings include the development of AI-driven legal tools and Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) services. KenRi's platform connects clients facing legal challenges with qualified attorneys, thereby facilitating timely legal support for the remaining 80% who would otherwise be unable to seek justice. Their AI Associate service automatically accumulates knowledge from past cases and generates AI tools akin to an associate lawyer, aiming for full digitalization of civil trials by May 2026. This service is designed to manage document handling and case management around the clock, for a broad client base ranging from individual consumers to small businesses, especially those encountering legal disputes in urban centers across Japan.

The company plans to utilize the July 2024 funding to develop new features for its digital platform and enhance user experience as well as to expand its services into other regions of Japan and potentially explore opportunities in the wider Asian market by 2025.
