Established in 2004 and headquartered in Shanghai, China, Hupu Sports operates as an interactive communication platform for Chinese sports fans. In 2007, it changed its name from hoopCHINA to Hupu Sports. In January 2018, the company raised CNY 618 million of series E funding from lead and new investor China International Capital Corporation. In June 2019, Hupu Sports raised CNY 1.
26 billion in pre-IPO funding from new investor Beijing Bytedance Technology Co. , Ltd. In January 2025, Xunlei acquired the company for CNY 500 million. Hupu Sports mainly provides information of football and basketball matches, one-stop integrated sports marketing services for businesses and organizations.
The company is also responsible for comprehensive services such as sports marketing planning, event marketing and management, event management, public relations and communication, sports market research, and new media operations. The company generates revenue by providing information on sports such as basketball, football, tennis, F1, NFL, MMA fighting, etc. The acquisition between the company and Xunlei will be finished in the first half of 2025.
