Based in Paris, France, Hera SAS, trading under the name HRA Pharma, is a consumer healthcare company that was founded in 1996. David Wright serves as the CEO of the company. In November 2011, Riverside Company acquired Hera SAS and was later sold to Astorg together with its co-investor Goldman Sachs Merchant Banking Division in February 2016. The private equity firms supported the expansion of Hera SA through various acquisitions including the acquisition of Compeed in July 2017, and Mederma in April 2019.
As of September 2021, it has a direct operational presence in 11 European countries and partnerships that distribute its products to over 90 countries worldwide, and in September 2021, Perrigo Company plc agreed to acquire Hera SAS from Astorg and Goldman Sachs Asset Management at EUR 1. 8 billion. Hera SAS develops and commercializes over-the-counter drugs. The firm offers health products specifically for women including emergency and regular contraception, moisturizing cream for skin aggressions in intimate areas, and drugs for uterine fibroids.
The firm also offers various products for wound care and blisters, as well as gels and creams for scar treatment.
