About
Based in Belfast, UK, and founded in 2013, The House of Fraser, Beatties & Jenners Pension Scheme was formed by merging the House of Fraser Pension Plan, the James Beattie plc Pension Scheme and the Jenners Princes Street Edinburgh Limited Pension and Life Assurance Scheme 1974. On 31 August 2018, the Scheme entered a “PPF assessment period”. The Pension Protection Fund (or PPF) was set up to provide members of a pension scheme with “compensation” if their employer, or former employer, becomes insolvent and their pension scheme does not have sufficient assets to pay a pension to at least the level of PPF Compensation. The Scheme is run by a corporate trustee called House of Fraser Pension Trustees Limited, which has a board of directors known as the Trustees, who ensure that the Scheme is run in line with legislation and the Scheme Rules.
In June 2022, the company was acquired by Pension Insurance Corporation ("PIC") for GBP 600 million.
