Based in California, US, and founded in 2019 by Jared Ablon and Matt Koskela (CTO), HackEDU, Inc. , is an on-the-job training platform for developers to help them prevent, find, and fix vulnerabilities in a code. In October 2021, HackEDU raised Seed funding from new investor Level Equity. Some of the customers of the firm include Acer, Amazon, Listrak, Acunetix, etc.
As of June 2022, Joe Ferrara is leading the firm as its CEO. HackEDU provides interactive cyber security training and secure code development courses for software engineers to help them defend their applications and networks against cyber security attacks. Companies can tailor training programs available on the firm's platform and use the automated training platform to train and develop their workforce's skills in languages such as Python, Go, Java, Node, C++, SQL, XSS, and others. Furthermore, the company provides lessons on vulnerabilities such as OWASP Top 10, API security, Drupalgeddon, and ZipSlip.
Apart from coding lessons, the firm offers guided coding practice sessions and various coding tasks and case studies to better engage the developers.
