Based in California, US, and founded in 2019, Future Acres, Inc. , formerly known as Hitch Robotics, is a developer of a robotic platform designed to automate the farming process, maximize harvesting and optimize workforce safety and efficiency. The company was co-founded by Suma Reddy, Ethan Joffe, and Nick Giancola and is backed by Wavemaker Partners in 2019 and through Seed funding by SeedInvest in 2021. Future Acres develops Carry, an autonomous robotic harvest companion, which helps farmers pick crops faster and can transport up to 500 pounds across any terrain or weather condition with the use of artificial intelligence, automation, and electric power.
Future Acres plans to further develop its product for the next five years by adding features including heavier crop transport capacity, solar-powered and precision spraying, and crop picking. It also plans to bring Carry to small- and medium-sized farms throughout the United States.
