Founded in 2023 by founder Shashank Yadav and based in New York, US, Fraction AI creates and distributes large-scale, perpetually labelled datasets to support artificial intelligence (AI) training and development. In December 2024, Fraction AI raised USD 6 million in pre-seed funding co-led by investors Symbolic Capital and The Spartan Group, with participation from other investors Anagram, Borderless Capital, Builder Capital, Cogitent Ventures, Generative Ventures, Karatage, MH Ventures, and Oak Grove Ventures. Fraction AI's primary product is its perpetual dataset platform, which serves multiple AI domains, including computer vision, natural language processing, instruction-following systems, and human preference modeling. The platform allows contributors to submit, label, and verify data, ensuring data quality through a reputation-based consensus mechanism.

Users can license datasets for use in AI model training, benefiting from the platform's scalability and affordability. The protocol also facilitates tokenised ownership, enabling data owners to earn revenue through licensing and participate in governance decisions. The company will use the December 2024 funding to foster a more decentralised future for AI and expedite the advancement of its products.
