Founded in 2002 and based in Maryland, US, Robotic Research OpCo, LLC, trading under the name Forterra, operates as a developer of autonomous mobility and robotics solutions for various transportation services. In November 2025, Forterra raised USD 238 million in series C and venture debt funding led by Moore Strategic Ventures, with participation from Enlightenment Capital, Hedosophia, XYZ Ventures, NightDragon, 9Yards Capital, Hanwha Asset Management, 645 Ventures, BAM Elevate, Franklin Templeton, Crescent Cove and Salesforce Ventures. Robotic Research OpCo, LLC provides driving solutions for commercial truck, bus, drayage, and logistics vehicles. The company's AutoDrive solution is used on-road, off-road, or in the yard, and provides a 360° autonomous driving solution that spans a variety of complex operational design domains (ODDs).
The company will use the November 2025 funding to expand production capacity to 1,000 units in 2026.
