Based in California, US, and founded in 2020 by its CEO, Jason Lu, Kiki Airlift Inc. , trading as Flyby Robotics, is an end-to-end manufacturer of drones with full autonomy, offering drone operators the ability to configure their drones. In April 2023, Flyby Robotics raised USD 4 million in pre-seed funding, led by new investor MaC Venture Capital with participation from other new investors Anthemis Group, Evening Fund, Gaingels Syndicate, and Weekend Fund. Individual investors also participated in the round.
Kiki Airlift Inc. 's flagship product is the F-11A, an open machine learning-ready UAV platform designed for developers and operators. The drone's open ML architecture allows developers to run AI applications on the edge for drone operators. The F-11A has several functionalities, including NDAA compliance, 5G integration for BVLOS and remote operations, programmable on-edge NVIDIA ML modules, and top and bottom modular payload mounts that can carry up to 3 kg.
The drone also has AI-enabled mission planning and obstacle contextualization features, making it suitable for a range of applications, such as drone delivery, inspections, and public safety. The company plans to use the funding to support its technical development.
