About
Founded in 1949 and based in Osaka, Japan, FCM Co. Ltd. (originally known as Tsutsui Rivet Manufacturing Co. Ltd.
) started as a wire drawing and distributing company. In 1956, it was renamed as Tsutsui Shinsen Co. Ltd. In 1965, it started plating services for electronic components.
In 1979, the wire drawing business was passed to Kyoto Tsutsui Shinsen Co. Ltd. , and was renamed Tsutsui Co. Ltd.
In 1992, it started to research and develop the plating of non-metallic materials and chemical processing. In 1999, Furukawa Electric Group became a parent company of FCM Co. Ltd. In 2001, it acquired the wire drawing company Tsutsui Densan Co.
Ltd. (fka Kyoto Tsutsui Shinsen Co. Ltd. ).
In 2003, the company was renamed as FCM Co. Ltd. In 2005, the company obtained the patent for the three-element alloy plating method. In 2007, it was listed on the Osaka Stock Exchange Hercules market (which later merged with Tokyo Stock Exchange to become JASDAQ standard in 2013).
A sales office in Tokyo and in the Philippines was set up to secure expanded market outlets in 2016 and 2018 respectively. In 2018, Aspirant Group SPC 5 Inc. (an investment company) became the parent company of FCM Co. Ltd.
, and it was privatized in 2019. FCM Co. Ltd. provides 3 types of manufacturing and B2B sales: films, plating, and wires.
For films, FCM Co. Ltd. uses roll-to-roll and detail processing techniques. For plating, FCM Co.
Ltd. provides plating of different elements to suit different needs (for example, silver plating for electric conductivity). For wires, FCM Co. Ltd.
can provide the wires in different shapes according to the size and applications of the appliances the wires go into. FCM Co. Ltd. generates revenue by providing services in electronic materials (film processing and plating) and services in conducting materials (wire drawing).
From April 2021 to March 2022, FCM Co. Ltd. generated JPY 6. 7 billion from services in electronic materials and JPY 1.
