Based in Accra, Ghana, and founded in 2013 by its CEO Alloysius Attah, and COO Emmanuel O. Addai, Farmerline Group operates as an online marketplace that combines digital tools, logistics, field agents, farm resources, and agribusiness partnerships to support farmers. In April 2022, Farmerline Group raised USD 6. 4 million in venture debt funding from new investors DEG, Rabobank, Ceniarth, Rippleworks, Mulago Foundation, Whole Planet Foundation, Netri Foundation, and Kiva.

As of May 2022, the company operations serve 800 farmers across Ghana and has worked with over 70 partners and 600,000 farmers across 25 countries. Farmerline Group develops solutions that combine digital tools, logistics, field agents, farm resources, and agribusiness partnerships to support African farmers with access to fertilizer and seeds, education on climate-smart farming practices, and connections to international markets. The company’s in-house technology platform Mergdata is built with algorithms that allow computational functionalities, data cross-referencing and geo-location (GPS) functions for location and mapping. Additionally, the application is equipped with features to enhance the traceability of goods.

It allows for the deployment of surveys to several android devices for field staff or enumerators. The company will use the venture debt funding to advance its platform, build physical infrastructures like warehouses and distribution networks and expand in both Ghana and Ivory Coast.
