Founded in 1923 and based in South Carolina, US, Diversey, Inc. is a manufacturer and seller of commercial cleaning and hygiene products and solutions for various industries. The company also provides consulting services in the areas of food and hygiene. The company began as a subsidiary of Victor Chemical Works, but later in 1950 became a separate entity as Diversey Corp.
In 1978, the company was acquired by The Molson Companies Limited, which also acquired BASF two years later to merge with Diversey. Later in 1996, Molson sold Diversey to Unilever to create DiverseyLever. In 2002, the company was sold to Johnson Wax Professional to form JohnsonDiversey. Finally, Clayton, Dubilier & Rice acquired JohnsonDiversey in 2009, and the companies were separated in 2010 into Diversey, Inc, and Diversey Holdings.
In July 2023, Solenis LLC, a portfolio company of Platinum Equity, acquired Diversey Holdings, Ltd. for USD 4. 6 billion in cash, at USD 8. 40 per share.
The company offers cleaning solutions and hygiene technologies primarily to the Institutional and Food and Beverage markets. The products are commodity cleaning chemicals and machines including infection prevention, personal care products, floor and building care chemicals, kitchen and mechanical warewash chemicals and machines, dosing and dispensing equipment, and floor care machines.
