Founded in 1982 and based in Hatfield, UK, David Lloyd Leisure Limited is a leisure club operator that focuses on offering health, wellness and fitness related facilities and services including racquet sports, gyms and spas. The founder of the company is David Lloyd, a former professional tennis player. David Lloyd Leisure Limited has approximately 8,600 employees, more than 570,000 club members and 126 clubs, 100 of which are located in the UK and the rest in Europe including Italy, Ireland and Holland. In September 2025, TDR, with participation from other investor acquired Majority stake in David Lloyd Leisure Limited.
As part of the deal, TDR Partner moved the company to TDR Capital Titan Continuation Fund and TDR III reinvested for a Majority stake in the business. The transaction was completed in November 2025. The company provides a chain of leisure and fitness clubs offering facilities such as indoor and outdoor swimming pools, fitness classes, gyms, spas, tennis and racquets facilities. It also offers personal training and coaching services for different sports, as well as clubrooms and dining areas equipped with restaurants and bars.
Additionally, kids clubs and activities are also included in the company’s leisure clubs, which include Tots Playtime and creches.
