About

Founded in 2019 by Ross Mulhall and Wayne Mulhall, and based in Cheshire, UK, CroBio Ltd. operates as a biotechnology company that develops and provides businesses within the agricultural sectors with in-field engineered microbes solutions to enhance soil water retention. In April 2024, CroBio Ltd. raised GBP 1.

61 million in seed funding led by the Grantham Foundation, with participation from Ponderosa Ventures. The company modifies root-associated bacteria to produce cellulose, which improves the soil's moisture-holding capacity and strengthens soil structure. The firm offers carbon sequestration strategies  and technology to boost plant drought resistance and reduce reliance on chemical fertilizers. CroBio's technology seeks to create a bio-scaffold around plant roots that retains water and essential nutrients.

The company intends to use the April 2024 funding to conduct field trials with strategic partners and expand our geographical reach.
