Based in Mumbai, India, and founded in 2014 by CEO Kunal Bajaj, Excel Telesonic India Pvt. Ltd. , doing business as CloudExtel, offers infrastructure services for addressing the challenges emerging from the hyper-growth of data consumption in India. In May 2023, Macquarie Group acquired a 51% majority stake in CloudExtel from Bombay Gas Company Limited for approximately USD 100 million.

The company provides infrastructure services, such as small cell hosting, to help telecom operators improve their 4G networks for data capacity offloading, network quality improvement, and enhanced consumer experiences in high-traffic density areas of urban centers or those towns where improving 4G signal density is necessary; Fibre to the Home (FTTH), offers high-speed connectivity inside the home for diverse data and voice offerings; Intra-city fiber allows telecom operators virtually unlimited capacity, scalability, and control on network, with the advantage of being significantly less expensive than self-build with security; and a virtualized network provides end-to-end network solutions that comprise the underlying passive network infrastructure as well as the active technology layers on top, all in a shared and scalable architecture for telecommunication, internet service, data centers, enterprises, and large content industries.
