Churpy Inc.

Based in Nairobi, Kenya, and founded in 2020 by its CEO, John Kiptum Juma, and co-founder, Kennedy Mukuna, Churpy Inc. operates as a financial technology company and offers an integrated receivables management product that supports account reconciliation. In March 2022, Churpy Inc. raised USD 1 million in seed funding led by new investor Unicorn Growth Capital, with participation from other new investors Antler, Nairobi Business Angel Network, and Rally Cap Ventures.

Other unspecified investors also participated in the round. Churpy Inc. is an end-to-end platform that provides an account receivables automation solution to automate the procedures of reconciling incoming payments and invoices for both individual and corporate customers. The company's product offering includes Churpy Reconciliation, which automatically reconciles all outstanding invoices against incoming bank payments by connecting to the bank and ERP; Churpy FinData API, which automatically harmonizes all users' multiple bank transactions into an ERP system; Electronic invoice presentation and payment, which digitalize the manual presentment of invoices and allow debtors to track and pay invoices partially and fully; and Trade Finance, to optimize working capital financing for the supply chain.

Churpy Inc. will use the seed funding to expand its operations in Egypt, Nigeria, and South Africa, as well as hire individuals to help facilitate innovation in regional hubs and support product development in order to scale its service.
