Candela Technology AB

Based in Lidingö, Sweden, and founded in 2014, Candela Technology AB provides electric boats with speed and range as fossil boats. The company is headed by its CEO Gustav Hasselskog. In March 2026, Candela Technology AB raised EUR 30 million in venture funding from International Finance Corporation, EQT, SEB Asset Management, Kan Dela AB and Ocean Zero, LLC. Candela Technology’s product line includes Candela P-30, Candela P-12, Candela C-7, Candela C-8, and Candela C–POD.

Candela P-30 is a high-speed and long-range electric shuttle ship that holds a capacity of cruising for more than 20 people. Candela P-12 is an electric hydrofoil water taxi that holds a capacity of cruising for about 12 people. Candela C-7 is an active hydrofoil system watercraft that offers an almost completely silent driving experience. Candela C-8 is a cruiser with a sunroof and retractable awning that has a range of more than 50 nautical miles per charge.

Candela C–POD is a boat motor designed for maximum efficiency and low drag. Candela Technology AB generates revenue from the sale of its products, such as Candela P-30, Candela P-12, Candela C-7, and Candela C-8 (starting at EUR 290,000 excluding VAT). The company will use the March 2026 funding to scale the production of its hydrofoil electric ferry vessels and support expanded manufacturing capacity.
