Founded in 2022 and based in California, US, Arcology Inc. trading name under Biosphere is a biotechnology company that provides innovative bioreactor designs and production systems. In January 2025, Biosphere raised USD 8. 8 million in seed funding co-led by investors Lowercarbon Capital and VXI Capital, with participation from other investors B37 Ventures, Caffeinated Capital, Founders Fund, and GS Futures.

Biosphere has developed a UV-enabled bioreactor that replaces traditional steam-based systems, significantly lowering capital intensity and operational costs.
