Established in 2008 and based in Shanghai, China, Shanghai Advanced Silicon Technology Co. , Ltd. doing business as AST, is an integrated circuit manufacturer that provides silicon wafers. Its production bases cover 30,000 square meters in Shanghai.
In 2012, it completed establishing artificial crystal production lines, was the first to manufacture single-crystal silicon rods of diameter 80 mm, and won the excellent supplier prize from TSMC. In 2016, it was the first to manufacture 8 inches of single-crystal silicon rods with an integrated circuit (IC) level and 12 inches of single-crystal silicon rods with an IC level. The company is headquartered in Shanghai and has a production base in Chongqing. In June 2024, it closed a strategic funding.
AST's products can be divided into silicon products, sapphire products, and artificial crystals. The silicon products have multiple sizes, 150mm, 200mm, 300mm, and 450m, and also include N type and P type. The sapphire products have multiple sizes, 50mm, 100mm, and 150mm, and have single-side polish and double-side polish. Silicone products and sapphire products also support customization.
The company generates revenue by providing silicon wafers and related products.
