The company was formerly the artificial intelligence Xiaoice team of Microsoft (Asia) Internet Engineering Institute. Di Li, the company's CEO, served as the vice president of Microsoft (Asia) Internet Engineering Institute. It has additional offices in Suzhou, Beijing, and Tokyo.

And its services and products cover 606 million online users and 900 million content users. Its clients cover the financial, real estate, textile, retail, vehicle, and sports industries, such as Youku, Changan, and Vanke. AI Being provides AI business solutions for digital characters, content generation, automobiles plus the internet of things (IoT), and sports. Its digital characters include virtual employees, virtual experts, virtual singers, and virtual chatbots.

Those virtual characters support image customized, content generation, real-time rendering, and human-machine interaction. AI content generators can create music content, and industrial design plans.
