In June 2025, Skyward Specialty Insurance Group acquired assets of Acceleration Aviation Underwriters, launching a new aviation underwriting unit as a result. Acceleration Aviation Underwriters (AAU) offers two main categories of aviation insurance coverage tailored to the unique risks faced in the industry. The first is Aircraft Liability and Physical Damage insurance, which provides protection for aircraft owners and operators.
This coverage addresses both damage to the aircraft itself and liability for third-party injuries or property damage arising from its operation. The second category is Airport Liability insurance, designed for airport owners, lessees, tenants, and Fixed Base Operators (FBOs). It covers exposures related to airport operations, offering financial protection for incidents that may occur on the premises or as a result of daily activities. Together, these policies support a broad spectrum of aviation clients, from individual pilots managing private aircraft to commercial service providers operating complex airport facilities.
AAU generates revenue through premium collection on issued policies. Its business model relies on underwriting profitability and long-term relationships with aviation-focused insurance agents. The June 2025 acquisition may enables Acceleration Aviation Underwriters to expand its offerings and accelerate its next phase of growth.
