Celebrating Preqin's 20th anniversary

Launched in 2003 and called Private Equity Intelligence back then, the company was built on the ambition to provide private market participants with the data they need to make better investment decisions. To achieve this, the firm’s founders Mark O’Hare and Nick Arnott set out with two founding principles: a laser focus on data quality and an unwavering commitment to customer centricity. These principles still guide us today.

Over the last 20 years, what started as a team of five has since grown to encompass 1,500 (and counting!) individuals, from all corners of the world, who form the basis of our innovative and diverse firm. From across 16 offices, we support a client base of over 200,000 professionals worldwide.

Daniel Barnes, EVP, Global Head of Operations – Engineering (12+ years with Preqin)

“My greatest achievement at Preqin is building out our incredible Engineering teams. When I started in my role as VP Engineering, we had a team of 12 based in London. We now have a team of 200+ in London, India, US, Singapore, and Hong Kong. We build industry-leading solutions that benefit tens of thousands of customers across the world and that help create a better tomorrow for our industry – I’m very proud of that.”
