About Us

Research Analyst - London

Overview of the Role

Preqin has a number of in-house research teams, each dedicated to a specific aspect of the alternative assets industry and responsible for maintaining accurate and extensive intelligence on companies, investors and service providers within the sector.

Accuracy and the quality of our information is paramount. Analysts are responsible for ensuring that our products and publications are as complete as possible, both through proactively contacting alternative assets professionals to ensure that our information is accurate, up-to-date and leading-edge, and through other research on the Internet.

The focus of a research analyst is on the compilation of data and written profiles, as well as the production of accurate and high quality analysis, both of which are key components of the published data and intelligence that we supply to our clients.

Working within a team, you will primarily be responsible for:

  • Updating our online databases with key financial information, statistics and analysis.
  • Obtaining reliable information by calling and/or emailing our contacts in the alternatives industry.
  • Providing current and updated analysis relating to investors in alternative assets funds, the managers running the funds, and other key players in the alternatives industry.
  • Writing high quality factual based copy in the 'house' style, composing profiles and providing performance-related input to online products and publications.

Successful Candidate

The position calls for a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills and an analytical orientation. The ideal candidate will have at least a 2.1 degree from a leading university.

You should have strong written and verbal English skills along with an analytical orientation that means you are also comfortable working with numerical data.

Patience and the focus to update a number of profiles, and a keen eye for detail are critical to the accuracy and quality of our information and, in turn, to the success of our output. You will need to be the sort of person who follows a process through consistently, and who is thorough in completing and checking their work.

You will also have the ability and enthusiasm to work independently within a highly focused, supportive and friendly team.

Knowledge or experience of the financial industry and a willingness to keep up-to-date on the world of Finance is important.
