Preqin Quarterly Update: Private Debt, Q3 2019

Private debt proves it is a source of sustainable and reliable income for investors in ongoing turbulence, outperforming both natural resources and real estate. However, Q3 saw the lowest amount of capital raised in any quarter since Q1 2018. The general consensus is that we are in the late stage of the market cycle, meaning fund managers in private debt are bracing themselves for further uncertainty.

The report also features exclusive comment on the sponsored lending market from Darius Mozaffarian, Partner & Co-President at White Oak Global Advisors, LLC. “Given the market dynamics today of easy monetary policy and rising asset prices, we expect the global demand for private credit to remain robust,” says Mozaffarian.
