School Employees’ Retirement System of Ohio to invest in private real estate

The USD 9.7 billion public pension fund, which has not committed to any private real estate funds so far in 2010, is planning to invest up to USD 125 million in private real estate in the next 12 months. A significant proportion of this capital is to be invested in commingled funds with an international focus and the first commitment is likely to be made in Q4 2010. The public pension fund will invest with existing managers but has yet to decide which these will be.
