Private Equity Fund of Funds Managers Hire Emerging Markets-Focused Staff

Recent weeks has seen several private equity fund of funds managers look to strengthen their emerging markets capabilities by hiring new staff. New-York-headquartered Pomona Capital hired Ernst Lambers and John Stephens as Managing Directors for its London and Hong Kong offices respectively. Both joined from specialist emerging markets private equity funds of funds manager EMAlternatives. Lambers and Stephens each bring over a decade of emerging market private equity experience to Pomona.

New-York-headquartered Hamilton Lane has also sought to strengthen its emerging markets capabilities. The fund of funds manager announced that it planned to open a new office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and that it has hired Ricardo Fernandez Silva, Jr. and Felipe Caldas as Vice Presidents to expand Hamilton Lane’s presence in Brazil. Both join from multi-manager Capital Dynamics.  Fernandez Silva was Vice President in the investment management group and Caldas Vice President in the business development group.
